Support for Children with Special Educational Needs

Support for children with SEND will remain in place, whether children are attending school or accessing remote learning.

We will endeavour to work closely with families to ensure an ambitious curriculum is delivered to all children with SEND, appropriate for the level of need.

If parents have any further questions regarding supporting their child with SEND, please do not hesitate to contact office@gaskell.bolton.sch.uk

Children’s Engagement with Learning

We will keep a daily register of attendance and contact you if we are concerned about your child’s attendance or engagement during the sessions.
This will enable us to identify any barriers to learning and offer support if necessary.
Paper packs of learning activities are available on request.

Zoom Live Lesson Etiquette for Children

Be on time for the lesson.
Have all your resources ready before the lesson starts.
Uniform is not necessary but please be washed and dressed for the day.
If possible, use a table/desk and chair for all classroom work, virtual or otherwise. Do not participate in virtual classes from bed.

During the live lesson:

  • Do not snack during the live lesson.
  • Avoid shouting out answers and raise a hand to be called upon or use the ‘raise hand’ function in the Zoom.
  • Respect everyone’s opinion and be encouraging.
  • If the teachers internet goes down, leave the session immediately
  • You must not take screenshots or photographs of the session.
